A DECREASE IN 'flit RENTAL FEE FOR THE USE OF
THE JAPANESE GARDEN AT WATSON PARK AND, ESTAt
LISHING RENTAL FEES FOR THE tiSE OF Att CITY
PARKS PROVIDING FOR AN: EFFECTIVE bATE.
WHEREAS, City parks are used infrequently throughout the
year for weddings and other social functions; and
WHEREAS, a certain amount of damage is always incurred
at these functions; and
WHEREAS, in the establishment of a lowered rental fee,
material and labor costs can hopefully be defrayed to some extent
while also encouraging more frequent use of park facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY. THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 39-16.2 of the Code ofthe City of
Miami, Florida is hereby amended by repealing the aforesaid section
and substituting therefor the following:
"Sec. 39-1G.2. Fees for useiof Japanese Garden at
Watson Park, and for use of all
City Parks.
The following rental fees for weddings and other
social functions are hereby established for the use.
of the Japanese Garden at Watson Park and for all
city parks:
(a) For city residents:
Parties up to 50 persons $ 25'
51 to 100.persons $'50
101 or more persons '$ 75
-(U) For nonresidents:
Parties up to 50 persons $ 50
51. to ' 100 persons $100

101 or more persons

The utilizii.tion of the Japanese Garden for weddings during
1975 has diminished due to the increased fees that were
established in Ordinance No. 8379, and utilization of
Wainwright Park and other City parks increased, with a net
loss of Revenue.

In order to promote the use, of the Japanese Garden for such
functions and establish fees for all other City parks, it is
advisable to amend Ordinance No. 8379.
Present Japanese Garden fees:

Proposed Amendment:
Establish rental fees for use of all City of Miami Parks for
weddings as follows:

It is now in order for the City Commission to amend Ordinance
No. 8379 to establish rental fees for use of all City Parks for
weddings.
