HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-76-0154144d/fb 1/23/76 RESOLUTION NO, 76=154 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILLIAMS PAVING CO,, INC, IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $142,958.50 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-36; ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $142,958.50 FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "STORM SEWER BOND FUNDS" TO COVER THE PROPOSED CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $14,295.58 TO COVER THE COST OR PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $2,859.65 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. . "SUPPORTIVEDOCUMENTS RT�UE fiv»WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on January 19, OLL�y� 1976 for the construction of NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-36; and "DDCUMENT INDEX M r'I ((l� / „ WHEREAS, the City Manager reports I T that , .50 bid of Williams Paving Co., Inc. is the lowest responsible bid and recommends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Funds" for the proposed amount of the contract for Project Expense; and for such items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The January 19, 1976 bid of Williams Paving Co., Inc. in the amount of $142,958.50 for the project entitled NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-36, namely Alternate Base Bid III of Proposal, based on unit prices be, and the same is hereby, accepted at the price stated therein, Section 2, The amount of $142,958,50 be and is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Fund" to cover the proposed cost of the contract, CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF FEB 10 NEMUTION NO 7e: -/E5 y REMARO:...... .......... Section 3, The amount of $14,'295.85 be and is hereby allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of Project Expense which includes engineering, surveys and inspec- tion work performed by City forces. Section 4. The amount of $2,859.65 be and is hereby allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of such items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage. Section 5, The City Manager be and is hereby author- ized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with Williams Paving Co., Inc. for the construction of NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-36. E.S.T., on the 19th day of January, 1976,.in the City Clerk s office, First Floor of the Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key, Miami, Florida 33133 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. The work, briefly described, includes: Approximately 25 proposed. Drainage Structures in the area bounded on the North and West by the City Limits, on the East by Biscayne Bay and on the South by N. 36 Street, with one.additional structure outside this area. These structures consist of approximately: 1000 linear feet of 2 foot wide Covered Ditch. 2500 linear feet of French Drain. 1000 linear feet of 15 inch Concrete Pipe. 300 linear feet of 12 inch Cast Iron Pipe All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. Plans and Specifications may be ob- tained from the Office of the Director, Department of Public Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, I4iami, Florida. Plans and Specifications are to be returned in good order andunmarked within 30 days after Bids have been received. Proposal includes the time of performance and Specifications contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete the work on time.
