A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN DADE
COUNTY TRHOUGH THE MANPOWER PLANNING CONSORTIUM
OF DADE AND MONROE COUNTIES+ AMENDING THE AGREE-
MENT APPROVED BY CITY OF MIAMI RESOLUTION NO,
73-1063, BY INCREASING THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE
CURRENT CONTRACT TO $961,680 AND EXTENDING THE
TIME OF PERFORMANCE TO DUNE 30, 1976.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami has operated a Public
Service Employment Program under TITLE I of the Comprehensive
Employment and Training Act, during the past year; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Labor has approved
funds to carry out the program through June 30, 1976; and
WHEREAS, the unemployment rate in Miami continues at
an exceptionally high rate;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute an agreement with Metropolitan Dade County
through the MANPOWER PLANNING CONSORTIUM of Dade and Monroe Coun-
ties, amending the agreement approved by City of Miami Resolution
No. 75-1063, by increasing the total amount of the current con-
tract to $961,680 and extending the time of performance to

Enclosed please find for your consideration a resolution autho-
rizing an amendment of the CETA Title I Public Service Employ-
ment contract, increasing the total amount of the current contract
from•$480,840 to $961,680 and extending the time of performance
by six months. The original contract was for six months from
July through December 1975. This amendment provides the funds
from January through June 1976.
The amendment will enable the City of Miami to extend the origi-
nal 92 CETA Title I Public Service Employment positions, thus
avoiding any lay-offs in the program for the next six months.
The jobs are located in the departments of Fire, Parks & Recre-
ation, and Sanitation.

hereto, in addition to original budget sumary, effective July 19,
