WHEREAS, The City of Miarnt has been selected to participate in the Third Century ''Greens" Program, a Bicentennia.1 beautification activity to beautify inner city lands and provide employment to unemployed residents of the City of Miami and; WHEREAS, The City of Miami is ii.n integral part of the MANPOWER CONSORTIUM AGREEMENT for Dade and Monroe Counties; and WHEREAS, The City of Miami is eligible under the Agreement to receive • funds to implement this program tbrouvh the Department of Labor; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MAAMI, FLORIDA: THAT the City Manager is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Manpower Consortium of Dade and Monroe Counties, pursuant: to City of Miami Resolution No. 74-111. for the purpose of receiving funds to participate in the Third Century "Greens" Program, a Bicentennial program administered through Third Century and the Dade Monroe Consortium beginning on February 10, 1976 in hereby ratified. Andrews City Manager DATE: FEO 10 106 SUBJECT: Third Century t''Greens Progratri't Contract REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Under the Third Century Bicentennial Landscape and Beautification "Greens Program", the City has been offered a $93, 000.00 Grant for landscaping and beautifying the Belcher Oil Property immediately north of Bicentennial. Park, and a tract of land described as a traffic island on the west side of Biscayne Boulevard adjacent to and south of the Boulevard exit of I-395. This Grant will provide $85, 000.00 for employing 17 persons under the Manpower Program and $8, 000.00 for the landscaping materials for the two projects. Inasmuch as this is a Third Century Bicentennial project, the employment must be limited to 7 months. Those employed under this program will be appropriately informed of this limitation. The construction of the beautification will be supervised by the Public Works, Planning and Parks and Recreation Departments of the City. "SU PPORFIVE DOCUMENTS FOLLOW"
