I t. t rl e 17 ,'tam s, 1976 Development Application In ortict to provide a smooth process in the submission of the al'„ve-mentioned application fur funds ($5,819,000) to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the attached schedule for review is recommended. The Commission Workshop will be similar to the one held last year, providing an explanation of the Community Development regulations, citi::en participation process, funding procedures and staff recommendations. One of the requirements of the Community Development program is that two public hearings be held in review of the application. The first is segg sted for January 22, at which time the application will by discussed in detail with interested citizens. The second public hearing is subgt sted fur February 12. As thy application is required to be submitted to U.S. HUD by February 20, it is essential that a resolution authorizing the City Manager to file the application be passed at this hearing. Additional time will be given before this date for Commission review. Citizen review has consisted to date of several types of meetings and information dispersal. • • 1. December 15, 1975, Dade County held a meeting for chairpersons of their 13 target areas, The City jointly Partici- pated in this meeting, where proposals for second year funding were presented and discussed. This meeting gave the chairpersons the opportunity to review proposed funding.; for their target area, dis- cuss them with residents of the area, and make recommendations for any changes felt necessary b • the citizens.
