A RI SOLU t ION OF THE C0PI11SSlilll OF THE CITY tltF MIAMI STRONG
URGING THAT METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY RECONSIDER. IN THE COUNTY'S
PARKS FOR Pi. PLE BOND ISSUE, BECAUSE THE CITY OF MIAMI CONSTITUTES
24% OF THE POPULATION OF DADE COUNTY AND PAYS 192 OF THE AD VALOREM
TAXES, THE NEEDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND SPECIFICALLY tN THE FOLLOWING
AREAS: (1) FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE BICENTENNIAL
PANT; (2) tMPROVMENTS AT THE ORANGE BOWL; AND (3) IMPROVEMENTS TO
CURTIS PARK AND FOR OTHER PARK PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF MIAMI.

Section 1. The Commission of the City of Miami strongly urges Metropolitan
Dade County to reconsider, in the county's Parks for People Bond Issue, because
the City of Miami constitutes 247 of the population of Dade County and pays

thv following urt.s-:
(1) Funds for the purchase and development of the Bicentennial Park;
(2) Improvements at the orange Bowl; and
(3) Improvements to Curtis Park and for other park projects located in the
City of Miami.
