A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DESIGNATE ONE HUNDRED TUoUSAND DOLLARS FROM
THE SECONW.YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT PROGRAM TO BE USED FOR HISTORIC PRESER.-
VATION PURPOSES AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER To SUBMIT GRANT APPLICATIONS TO
THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE OP THE STATE OF FLORIDA
Folk HISTORIC PRESERVATION PURPOSES AND FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE
GRANTS AND EXECUTE THE NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND
AGREEMENTS TO IMPLEMENT HISTORIC PRESERVATION
PROGRAMS UPON RECEIPT or THE GRANTS.
WHEREAS, the City CommiSsi(,r expressed a desire
for historic preservatio submission of
an application for C tretit Mock Crant Funds
in which one of the short-l-r- ,,ctives is to work "with
Dade Heritage Trust and other !A-0';tt, restoration foundations"
to "recommend acquisition of !, -or h0Aoric preservation;
and
WHEREAS, Dade Heritage Trut, Inc. has requested that
the City use Community Development Block Grant Funds to acquire
or restore two sites containing structures of historic value; and
WHEREAS, funds are available from the Federal government
and the State of Florida for acquisition and restoration of sites
and structures of historic value provided that fifty percent
(5OE4) of the project cost is furnished by the applicant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI FLORIDA: :TD,O.C.UNtAnENT /IN? E

Section I. The City Manager be and is hereby authorized
to designate One Hundred Thousand Dollars from the second -year
Community Development Block Grant Program to be used for
historic preservation purposes.

Section 2. The City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to submit grant applications to the Department of
State of the State of Florida for historic preservation purposes.
Section 3. The City Manager he and he is hereby
authorised to accept the grants and execute the necessary con-
tracts and agreements to implement historic preservation programs
.por receipt of the grants.
