A RESOLUTION URGING THAT THE DECISION OF THE BUREAU OF OPERATING RIGHTS OF THE CIVIL AERONAUTICS BOARD REFUSING THE CITY OF MIAMI NON-STOP EUROPEAN ROUTE AUTHORITY BE GIVEN ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION IN LIGHT OF PREVIOUS UNREPORTED CARGO AND PASSENGER VOLUME, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING AND INSTRUCT- ING THE CITY CLERK TO SEND COPIES HEREOF TO GOVERNOR ASKEW, PRESIDENT FORD, ALL MEMBERS OF THE FLORIDA CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION AND THE CIVIL AERONAUTICS BOARD. WHEREAS, the City of Miami has long been recognized as a tourist oriented area; and WHEREAS, the Civil Aeronautics Board's Bureau of Operating Rights has refused the City of Miami non-stop route authority to the continent of Europe other than to the City of London, which limited route authority has existed for many years; and WHEREAS, the Civil Aeronautics Board's Bureau of Operating Rights has granted such non-stop route authority to other municipalities such as Dallas, Houston and Atlanta; and WHEREAS, it appears that the City of Miami is not receiving just, proper, or satisfactory treatment from the Civil Aero- nautics Board because of invalid statistics utilized by the Civil Aeronautics Board's Bureau of Operating Rights; and WHEREAS, it is the recc mendation of the City Manager that the City Commission adopt a resolution to be sent to Governor Askew, President Ford, the Florida Congressional Delegation and the Civil Aeronautics Board, urging that this refusal be riven additional consideration or another hearings NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIOI+L CITY or MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and instructed to forward a copy hereof to Governor Askew, President Ford, all members of the Florida Congressional Delegation and the Civil Aeronautics Board.
