THIS MAILRIAL.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received
November 7, 1977 for the furnishing of 1,000 cubic yards of red clay for
the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to seventeen potential suppliers
and four bids were received; and
1 111LRCAS,funds for this purchase are available in the Parks for
People Bond Program; and
WII[11LA;, this material will be used by the Department of Parks
and Recreation for the purpose of renovating the ball playing fields in
the City park:,; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks and Rec-
reation recommend that the bid received from Florida Silica Sand Company
be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City;

Section 1. the November 7, 1977 bid of Florida Silica Sand
Company for furnishing 1,000 cubic yards of red clay at a total cost of
$13,450.00 is hereby accepted with funds hereby allocated from the Parks
for People Mond Program of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Section 2. that the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct
the Purchasing Agent to issue the Purchase Order for this material.

tion be prepared accepting the most advantageous bid
