A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE
EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF PRINTING OF THE FINANCIAL
PROSPECTUS REQUIRED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF
FINANCE AS A PART OF THE $14,040,000 GENERAL
OBLIGATION BOND SALE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING AGENT
TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER I.: THE AMOUNT OF
$7,131 TO FLORIDA FINANCIAL PRINTING, INC.,
FOR PRINTING 106 PAGES OF THE FINANCIAL
PROSPECTUS, WITH PROVISION FOR POSSIBLE ADDED
CHARGES OF $65 FOR EACH AI)I)1TIONAL TEXT PAGE,
$85 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL TABULAR PAGE, AND $2

WHEREAS, the Department of Finance required the
printing of the Financial Prospectus as a part of the $14,040,000
General Obligation Bonds sale; and
WHEREAS, funds are available from General Obligation
Bond funds; and
WHEREAS, included in the $14,040,000 is $11,540,000
Public Park and Recreational Facilities Bonds, which funds are
needed in December, 1977 to acquire the Florida East Coast property
in a quick -take proceeding; and
WHEREAS, because of the emergency of the quick -take
proceeding, the bond sale is scheduled for January 11, 1978 and
time does not allow for soliciting three bids; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommended that this
purchase be made;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

printing of the Financial Prospectus required by the Department of
Finance, from :'lorida Financial Printing, Inc. at a cost of $7,131,
for printing 106 pages of the said prospectus, with provision for

possible added charges of $65 for each additional text page;
$85 for each additional tabular page and $2 for each line
change with funds hereby allocated from the following General
Obligation Bond funds: "People for Parks", "Firefighting, Fire
Prevention and Rescue Facilities",and "Housing".
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue the Purchase Order for
this material.

Resolution Ratifying and Con-
firming the Emergency Purchase
of Printing Services for the
$14,040,000 Bond Prospectus
Attached is a resolution ratifying and confirming the emergency purchase of
printing the financial prospectus required by the Department of Finance as a
part of the $14,040,000 General Obligation Bond sale.
Included in the $14,040,000 bond sale is $11,540,000 Public Park and Recrea-
tional Facilities bonds, which funds are needed in December 1977 to acquire
the Florida East Coast property in a quick -take proceeding. The bond sale
has been rescheduled for Aanu;iry 1 1 . 19Th because of this emergency. The
financial prospectus will be mailed to prospective buyers on November 28,
1977. The timeframe does not allow for soliciting of bids from printers
for the prospectus.
Florida Financial Printing, Inc., also known as Miami Review, Inc., has sub-
mitted a cost price of $7,131 for printing 106 pages of the Financial
Prospectus, with provision for possible added charges of $65 for each addi-
tional te:;t page, $85 for each additional tabular page, and $2 for each line
change. (Please refer to copy of letter attached.)
Please have the attached resolution presented to the City Commission at its
1)ecc: bcr 15, 1977 Commission Meeting.
