FT., LOCATED AT 91 NORTHEAST 62nd STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THE SUM OF FIFTY-SIX THOUSAND ($56,000,00) DOLLARS, ANI) ALLOCATING FIFTY SEVEN THOUSAND ($37,000,00) DOLLARS FROM FIRE FIGHTING, FIRE PREVENTION & RESCUE FACILITY BONDS 1'O COVER THE COST OF ACQUISITLON OF FEE SIMPLE TITLE TO THIS PROPERTY ANI) OTHER COSTS INCIDENTAL 'I'0 THE ACQUISITION, WHEREAS, the property located at 91 Northeast 62nd Street, Miami, Florida, proposed to be acquired for Fire Station No, 9; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department has approved the acquisition of said property to provide Fire Station No. 9, and concurs with the recommendation to acquire this parcel; and WHEREAS, funds from Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention & Rescue Facility Bonds, further identified by Paragraph B, Subparagraph 2 of the General Obligation Bond Appropriation are available to acquire said parcel; and WHEREAS, the owners of the property have, by Agreement dated the l6th day of September, 1977, offered to convey fee simple title to this property to the City of Miami, Florida, for the negotiated price of Fifty -Six Thousand ($56,000.00) Dollars; and WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the City of Miami, Florida, to acquire the property at this time through purchase in lieu of condemnation; "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM NO " NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. W. Brice, Acting Director, Department of Fire, authorizing the acquisition of three parcels of property for Fire Stations Nos. 4, 9, and 14, the following information is submitted: - This acquisition was the first parcel of three parcels involved for the acquisi- tion of Fire Station No. 9. Nineteen M.A.I. Appraisers were solicited for bids, and three proposals were received. The Appraiser selected was the lowest fee of the three bids submitted. The pertinent facts of this acquisition are as follows: - Appraiser Property Consultants, Inc. Appraised Value of Property $ 49,500.00 Property Location 91 Northeast 62nd Street, Miami, Florida Leal Description Lot 6 Less S 5 Ft. Lot 7 Less S 5 Ft. Block 5 Inglewood Gardens, Owners George Donald Hall and Wife Patricia Lot Size to City and to City PB 13, Page 57 Cost of Appraisal $ 3,040.00 - This fee covers appraisal costs for all three parcels and will be paid for from bond funds. 95 c 100 Sq. Grassie City Manager Memorandum - Page 2 of 2 continued - Improvements Two (2) car garage with adjoining apartment comprised of 1,077 sq. ft. total, and a Single Family residence comprised of 1,437 sq. ft.. After a series of negotiations, the final price of $56,000.00 was accepted and acted upon. It is recommended that the negotiated price be accepted since it would be more costly to the City to acquire by condemnation. The Fire Department Director concurs with this recommendation.
