RESOLUTION NO. 77-362
A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING ANI) DECLARING
THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD
ON NOVEMBER 8, 1977 FOR THE NOMINATION
OF CANDIDATES FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR
AND TWO COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, a primary election was duly held on
November 8, 1977 for nomination of candidates for the offices
of Mayor and two Commissioners of the City of Miami,. Florida;
and
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been
delivered to and canvassed by the Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Commission finds and hereby declares
and certifies that the following candidates in their respective
groups received the number of votes set opposite their respec-
tive names:
GROUP I
For Mayor
Celeste Coonan
Maurice A. Ferre
E. L. Marina
GROUP IV
For Commissioner
Carlos Carranza
Alberto Miguel
Manolo Reboso
Richard Rosichan

Section 2. The total number of ballots cast at

said election in the 87 voting precincts was � C71 �.
Section 3. It is hereby certified and declared that
in Group I (For Mayor) MAURICE A. FERRE received a majority of
votes cast in Group I, and he shall be considered elected and
hold said office for a term of two (2) years from Noon on Novem-
ber 10, 1977.
Section 4. It is hereby certified and declared that
in Group IV (For Commissioner) MANOLO REBOSO received a majority
of votes cast in Group IV and shall be considered elected and shall
hold said office for a term of four (4) years from Noon on Novem-
ber 10, 1977.
Section 5. It is hereby certified and declared that
in Group V (For Commissioner) the names of JOE CAROLLO and
THEODORE R. GIBSON be placed upon the ballot in alphabetical
order as candidates for the office of Commissioner in Group V
at the Regular Election to be held on November 15, 1977.
Section 6. The election was fairly held according
to the provisions of law, and the said returns of the inspectors
and clerks are now found to be correct.
Section 7. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to perform any and all other incidental duties in connec-
tion herewith as required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of November, 1977.
