Gary, DirectorC}+ice Department of Management Services oth 17 k,'1 d : 57 October 13, 1977 Appropriation for Current Expenses Prior to the passage of the Fiscal Year 1977-78 Annual Appropriations Ordinance The City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8707 on September 30, 1977 to provide for the continued operations of the City of Miami beginning October 1, 1977, before an annual budget for fiscal year 1977-78 is adopted. That ordinance appropriated one -twelfth (1/12) of the fiscal year 1976-77 operational appropriations for departments (adopted January 27, 1977) and the entire appropriations for debt service and pension. If the Commission does not adopt the annual appropriations ordinance for fiscal year 1977-78 by November. 1, 1977, it will be necessary to provide a means for funding continued operations of the City for an additional period of time. Hence, attached is a proposed ordinance to appropriate a second one -twelfth (1/12) of the fiscal year 1976-77 operational budgets for departments.
