ONCE YOU CALL IT HOME,
IT GETS EVEN BETTER.

City of Miami
P. 0. Box 330708

Dear Mayor:
As a meeting today the Executive Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of
Commerce instructed me to share the following with you and your colleagues.
The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking a World Trade Center
development. We are encouraging the City, the International Center and others to
work with private developers on a World Trade Center.
It is the opinion of this Chamber that these kinds of developments can be entirely
supported by private investment. Feasibility studies are part of the normal pre-
liminary process ultimately charged to the cost of the project, therefore included in
the private sector responsibility.
The Chamber's insistence on private development of a World Trade Center
recognizes the ability of private developers to finance the basic requirements of
feasibility studies and pre -planning details, eliminating the costly dollars and time
and governmental delays involved in the process for such development by public
means.
The developers should be offered the full support of the City's political and adminis-
trative leaders short of direct financial participation.
Miami has clearly demonstrated that international trade and commerce have
reached the stage of activity that will support a profitable World Trade Center in
our opinion.
Sincerely,
ster eman
ecutive Vice President
