A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MIAMI CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 1977-1983 IN PRINCIPLE;
DIRECTING THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO REVISE
AND UPDATE IT ANNUALLY FOR SUBMISSION TO THE
COMMISSION; AND DIRECTING THE PLANNING DEPART-
MENT TO DEVELOP APPROPRIATE POLICY STATEMENTS
FOR SUBSEQUENT CONSIDERATION AND INCLUSION IN
THE MIAMI COMPREHENSIVE NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN
REFERRING TO PROPOSED CITY OF MIAMI CAPITAL
EXPENDITURES.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-66 of the Miami City Codes the 'Planning
Department has prepared the capital improvement program; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 75-257 of the Florida Statutes, the
expenditure of public funds for capital improvements identified in the recently adopted
Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan shall include estimated costs, priority ranking
relative to other proposed capital expenditures and proposed funding sources; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Capital Improvement Program 1977-1983 has been prepared
to partially satisfy the aforementioned State Law; and
WHEREAS, a capital improvement program is a desirable policy and management
tool to plan municipal borrowing and indebtedness over a period of time, to establish
annual expenditures within a framework of long-range fiscal requirements and to serve
as an official statement of the City's development plans; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting of October 5, 1977,
Item No. I, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution No. PAB 43-77, by a 4
to 0 vote approving, in principle, the Miami Capitol Improvement Program, 1977—I983.
NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section I. The Miarni Capital Improvement Program, 1977-1983 be and the same
is hereby approved, in principle.
Section 2. The Planning Department be and is hereby authorized to annually
revise and update the Miami Capital Improvement Program and submit same to the City
"DOCUMENT. INDEX
Commission.
Section 3.

appropriate policy statements for subsequent consideration and inclusion in the Miami

The Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting of October 5, 1977,
Item .+=1, following an advertised Hearing, adopted Resolution No.
PAB 43-77 by a 4 to 0 vote (4 members absent) recommending that
the Miami Capital Improvement Program 1977-1983 be approved in
principle.
There were no objections.
A RESOLUTION to provide for the above has been prepared by the
City Attorney's office and submitted for consideration of the
City Commission.
