We still have the Art Gallery, the private tenants (who have been notified to evacuate) and three City offices to be relocated. The three City offices to be relocated are Mr. Connolly, Mr. Gilchrest and Mr. Acton and their staffs. The activities that these offices carry out are, in my opinion, better located downtown or in the immediate vicinity to downtown. It is also my opinion that these offices should be relocated as soon as possible. The Purchasing Agent trailers, roughly 24' purchase. The ideal the Convention Center because construction Park site. This, how do with the City offi informed me of the availability of two office by 60' each, that are available for quick location for the trailers would probably be on site; however, there is not sufficient room is eminent. They could be placed on the Dallas ever, presents the practical problem of what to ces during the demolition. Watson Island is considered the best alternative. This is particu- larly emphasized because part of the use will be directly related to the development of Watson Island. Adequate electrical, water and telephone facilities plus a septic tank can be supplied for cost estimates, at this time, around $2,000. Other costs will be necessary to refurbish the trailers. At this time, I have no price estimates, but they should be minimal because the conditions of the trailers are very good. It is my recommendation that we acquire the trailers on lease purchase basis. The amount of the lease monthly is about equivalent to the amount of rent we now pay for offices in Dallas Park ($426.38 for the trailer versus $507 for Dallas Park). The lease purchase option I believe is desirable so should the City decide to permanently keep the trailers for other uses, they could be acquired at a fixed price. In any event, they will be necessary for at least two years during the construction of the Downtown Convention Center, Downtown Adminis- tration Building and the development of Watson Island. A resolution has been prepared for the 13th authorizing you to enter into an agreement for lease purchase, fixing the terms and establish- ing that funds will be available from the Capital Projects fund.
