WiltREAS, it is essential that the fees as provided herein be increased; and WHEREAS, this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the health, peace, safety and welfare of the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that in order to provide this much needed service for the operation of the municipality that the fees as herein provided be increased; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OP THE CITY OF MIAMI , FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Ordinance No. 6145, as amended, are hereby amended by repealing the fee schedules as provided therein and by establishing new fee schedules as Section 5, as hereinafter set forth, to wit: SECTION 5- FEE SCHEDULE: A. DOUBLE FEES When work for which a permit is required is commenced prior to the obtaining of a permit, the fees, as specified herein, inay be doubled, but in no event shall such doubled fee be less than Twenty -Five Dollars ($25.00). The payment of such double fee shall not relieve any person, firm or corporation from fully compplying with all of the requirements of all applicable regulations and codes, nor shall it relieve them from being subject to any of the penalties therein, The double -fee requirement shall be applicable to all divisions of the Building Department, MINIMUM FEE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, $25,00 When extra inspection trips are necessary due to (1) wrong address being given on call for ins ectipn; (2) prior rejection of work due to faulty construction; (3) work not being ready for inspection at time specified; (4) failure to call for final or other inspections; and (5) required corrections not being made or completed at time specified, a fee of Twenty -Five dollars ($25.00), for each reinspection may be charged ............. $25.00 The payment of reinspection fees may by required before any further permits will be issued to the person or firm owing same, and further inspections may be refused until payment of reinspection fees has been made, 1einspeetion of existing buildings by all divisions to determine compliance with the South Florida Building Code, but not annual inspections as required by Section 305.1(d). $10.00 per division including Landscape. The fees charged pursuant to this ordinance pro- vided the same are for permit required by Section 301.1 of the South Florida Building Code, may be refunded by the Director of the Building Department, subject to the following: (1) No refund shall be made where any work has commenced except where duplicate permits are issued for the same work. in which case a re- fund in accordance with Item 4 may be granted to the prior -issued permit holder providing that duplicate permits were issued within ninety (90) days of each other and request for refund is received within ninety days of the issuance of the Latter permit, 2.00 2,00 No refunds shall be made Where permits have become void as provided by Paragraph IO4 3(a) of the South Florida Building Code (3) No refunds shall be made on permit fees of Five Dollars ($5.00) or less. (4) Refunds on permits or any item thereon where fees are over Five Dollars ($5.00) will be refundable on a basis of seventy percent (7076) of the balance over Five Dollars ($5,00), such refunds to be trade to the closest dollar, (5) Full refunds may be granted to .a permit holder whose permit is cancelled by owner authorisa- tion where work has commenced and such owner selects a second contractor to complete the work. The second contractor shall pay a full fee to complete the work unless the first con- tractor waives his opportunity to a refund in writing, in which case, the second contractor is entitled to a permit to cover the same work on a "no charge" basis. (6) A full refund may be granted to a permit holder who takes out a permit covering work outside the jurisdictional inspection area. D.
