ORDINANCE NO 8687
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OP THE CITY
OP MIAMI, PLORIDA, BY SUBSTITUTING A NEW
SECTION.2-24►2 OP CHAPTER 2, WHICH ESTAg-
LIStiED A PEE FOR INSPECTIONS AND EXAM2NA-
/MONS OF PLANS AND SITE INSPECTIONS TO ASSURE
ORIGINAL, AND CONTINUED °COMPLIANCE WITH THE
PROVISIONS OP THE CITY OP MIAMI' S COMPREHENSIVE
ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 68? , AS AMENDED, EXCLUD-
ING SINGLE-PAMILY RESIDENCES AND DUPLEXES;
PROVIDING THAT THIS PEE SHALL BE IN ADDITION
TO THE BUILDING PERMIT PEE; CONTAINING A
REPEALER PROVISION AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND
PROVIDING 1OR AN EFPECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Building Department of the City of Miami
is required to spend significant amounts of time for the examina-
tion of blueprints, plans and site development for the construc-
tion of new buildings to ascertain initial compliance with the
City of Miami's Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 6871, as
amended, which includes but is not limited to sebacks, height
of structures, lot coverage, parking requirements, beautifica-
tion, signs, and numerous other conditions which are imposed
upon persons developing property within the corporate limits
of the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the Building Department is further required
to inspect the site both during the construction period and in
addition, after the Certificate of Occupancy is issued, to
assure continued compliance with the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
Ordinance of the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the fee
established to compensate the City for the cost of the inspections
and examinations as provided for in this Ordinance be increased;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. Section 2-24.2 of Chapter 2 of the Code
of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is hereby further amended
y repealing the present sect :on in its entirety and east toting
therefor the fallowing:
"Sec. 2-24.2 Fee for inspections and examinations
of plans for compliance with the pro-
visions of the Comprehensive Zoning
Ordinance No. 6871.
There is hereby established the following fee per square
foot of total land area encompassed in the protect
at the time the application is made for the construc-
tion of a new building, excluding single-family residences
and duplexes, for the purpose of examination of the plans
and site development and subsequent inspections of the
building site prior to the issuance of the certificate
of occupancy and subsequent thereto to assure original
and continued compliance with the provisions of the
City of Miami Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 6871.

(This fee shall be in addition to the building pertfit fee
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of o rdinat s in
conflict herewith, insofar as they are in conflict, are he by
repealed.
Section 3. Should any section, part of section, para-
graph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance be declared invalid,
the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective
on October 10, 1977.
