Home My WebLink AboutR-77-0708SUPPORTIVE GCUMENTS FOLLOW" RESOLUTION 7.7 " 7 0 8 A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 76-1076(11/18/76) ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE BREWER COMPANY OF FLORIDA [-OR FURNISHING LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR APPROXIMATELY 10,000 SQUARE YARDS OF SIDEWALKS OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE AND BASE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION AT AN APPROXIMATE COST OF $35,500.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM TITLE X - BAYFRONT PARK FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS MATERIAL. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received August 9, 1977 for the furnishing of labor and materials for approximately 10,000 square yards of sidewalks of asphaltic concrete and base for the Department of Parks and Recreation. WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to thirty-four potential sup- pliers and three bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in Title X-Bayfront Park Funds; and WHEREAS, approximately 10,000 square yards of asphaltic concrete and base will surface the walkways in Bayfront Park, Phase I as a permanent installaticn; and WHERCAS,progress of the project was such that delivery could not be accepted within the time frame of the original schedule, and an announced price increase necessitated a re -bid; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks and Recrea- tion recommend that the bid received from the Brewer Company of Florida, Inc. be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COIII1ISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. It is requested that the award be made and a resolution be prepared accepting the most advantageous bid as re- ceived from fhe Breuer Company of Florida, Inc. for fur- nishing approximately 10,000 square yards of sidewalks of asphaltic concete and base at an approximate cost of $35,500.00. The Department of Parks and Recreation concurs with this recommendation.
