FOR TWO HI-LO BOY TRACTORS AT A COST OF $7,875.00) BID OF TIECO FOR SIX ROTARY MOWERS WITH SULKY AT A COST OF $7,762.00, BID OF HOMESTEAD MOWER SERVICE FOR TWO EDGER TRIM- MERS AT A COST OF $679.00, BID OF HECTOR TURF & GARDEN, INC. FOR ELEVEN ROTARY MOWERS AND TWO ELECTRIC HEDGE TRIMMERS FOR A COST OF $2,380.00, BID OF DEBRA TURF & INDUSTRIAL EQUIP- MENT FOR TWO 30" REEL MOWERS AT A COST OF $2,458.00, BID OF GMC TRUCK & COACH DIVISION FOR TWO PICK UP TRUCKS AT A COST OF $11,470.00; FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION AT A TOTAL COST OF $34,725.10; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND- MECHANIZATION PROGRAM; AUTHOR- IZING THE CITY (TANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received Juhe'16, 1977 for the furnishing of Lawn Maintenance Equipment for the bepartment of Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to seventy-nine potential su pliers and thirteen bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in ,the Federal' Revenue Sharing Fund -Mechanization Program; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Parks and Recreation for the purpose of maintaining the City parks; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks and Recrea tion recommend thit the bids received From Ace Lawnmower Service, Richards Impement Co., Tieco, Homestead Mower Service, Hector Turf and Garden Inc., Debra Turf and Industrial Equipment, GMC Truck and Coach Division be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Invitations were mailed to seventy-nine potential suppliers and thirteen bids were received per the attached tabulation. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the Federal Revenue Sharing Fund - Mechanization Program. This is replacement equipment uhich will be used throughout the City in the maintaining of the City Parks. Item 10, Pick up Truck - The lowest bid was for a 1977 model truck which is no longer available due to model year change. The bidder included a statement whereby he would furnish a 1978 model when available, but price not known. The recommended auard is for a 1978 model With a firm price. Item 11, Lo-I3oy Tractor - after inspection and demon- stration, a diesel powered, air-cooled engine was selected in lieu of a gasoline powered, liquid -cooled engine as per specifications. All other bids meet specifications. INFORMATION: This is replacement equipment which gill be used throughout the City in the maintaining of the City Parks.
