A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FOLLOWING BIDS FOR FURNISHING
LANDSCAPE PLANTS AND SHRUBS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS
AND RECREATION: EVERGLADES SOD AND LANDSCAPING COMPANY
FOR SEAGRAPE, JASf1INUF1, PITTSPORUFI, MONSTERA, VIBURNUM,
COCOPLUM, BUCIDA BUCERAS AT A COST OF $21,304.75; ROBJOY
NURSERY FOR PHILODENDRON AT A COST OF $2,531.20; CRUSTY
DRYBREAD FOR PODACARPUS AT A COST OF $14,625.00; INVERRY
LANDSCAPE FOR LAGESTROENIA AT A COST OF $1,365.00; MANGUS
LANDSCAPE NURSERY FOR LADY PALMS AT A TOTAL COST OF $650.00;
FOR A TOTAL COST OF $40,555.95; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE
FEDERAL GRANT FOR BAYFRON1 PARK, PHASE I; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT 10 ISSUE THE PURCHASE
ORDERS FOR THESE MATERIALS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received
June 21, 1977 for the furnishing of landscape plants and shrubs for the
Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to sixty-three potential suppliers
and ten bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds For this purchase are available in the -federal
Grant- for the Bayfront Park, Phase I; and
WHEREAS, these materials will be used by the Department of Parks
and Recreation for the purpose of beautifying Bayfront Park, Phase I; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks and Rec-
reation recommend that the bids received from Everglades Sod and Landscaping
Company, Robjoy Nursery, Crusty Drybread, Inverrary Landscape and Mangus
Landscape Nursery be accepted as the most advantageous bids to the City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following bids of June 21, 1977 for furnishing
landscape plants and shrubs for the Department of Parks and Recreation are
hereby accepted with funds hereby allocated from the Federal Grant for
Bayfront Park, Phase I:

Bid: Landscape Plants and Shrubs
Tabulation
pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received July 21,
1977 for furnishing landscape plants and shrubs for the De-
partment of Parks and Recreation.
Invitations verc mailed to sixty-three potential suppliers and
ten bids were received as per the attached tabulation.
Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the Federal
Grant for Bayfront Park, Phase I.
The plants and shrubs are to be placed in Bayfront'Park, Phase
I for the beautification of the park.
It is requested that the auard be made and a resolution be
prepared accepting the most advantageous bids as received from
the following companies for furnishing landscape plants and
shrubs:

Items 1 and 11 have been cancelled on advise of
landscape architect.
Item 2: Bannerman Landscape, lowest bidder, not
acceptable as IL does not. meet specifications.
Crusty Drybread bid is acceptable.
Item 8: Everglades misquoted price on material.
Bannerman Landscape bid is not acceptable because
they cannot shoo material. The bid by Mangus
Landscape is acceptable.
Item 12: Louesl bidder, Bannerman Landscape, not
acceptable because vendor unable to shoo material.
The Inverrary Landscape bid is acceptable.
Lou bid on all other items meets specifications
and is acceptable.
The landscape plants and shrubs will be used at
Bayfron1 Park, Phase I Beautification Project.
