A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
To PURCHASE IN LIEU OF CONDEMNATION FIVE
(5) FAMILY RESIDENCES TOGETHER WITH
VACANT LOTS, LOCATED AT 47 N.E. 58TH
STREET; 5827 N.E. MIAMI COURT; 5835 N.E.
MIAMI COURT; 42 N.E. 59TH STREET; 5828
N.E. MIAMI PLACE, ALL IN MIAMI, FLORIDA,
FOR THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY NINE
THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY ($129,440)
DOLLARS AND ALLOCATING SEVENTY THOUSAND
($70,000) DOLLARS FROM PARKS FOR PEOPLE
BOND FUND AND SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND ($65,000)
DOLLARS FROM THIRD YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
FUNDS TO COVER THE COST OF ACQUISITION OF FEE
SIMPLE TITLE TO THIS PROPERTY AND OTHER COSTS
INCIDENTAL TO THE ACQUISITION.
WHEREAS, these properties are proposed to be acquired
for the development of a neighborhood park for the use of the
citizens in the Edison Center area; and
WHEREAS, the land area involved is comprised of
45,775 sq. ft., on which sit five (5) single family residences
which have been used heretofore as a drug center known as Village
South; and �►
ITEM NO.
WHEREAS, the Parks for People Bond Fund Task Force
has approved the acquisition of said properties to provide a neighbor-
hood park, and concurs with the recommendation to acquire these
parcels; and
WHEREAS, the necessary monies for said acquisition are
available from the 1972 Parks & Recreation Facilities Bond Fund and
from Third Year Community Development Funds; and
WHEREAS, this acquisition is in accordance with the
Land Acquisition Policies under Community Development Programs,
which include cost of relocation assistance, if required, as detailed
in HUD handbook 1320.1, Real Property Acquisitions; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the property has, by-iAgreement
dated the 5th day of July, 1977, offered to convey fee simple title

to this property to the City of Miami, Florida, for the appraised
price of One Hundred Twenty -Two Thousand Eight Hundred ($122,800)
Dollars, plus bonus, as authorized by Resolution No. 77-73; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the
City of Miami, Florida, to acquire the property at this time,
through purchase in lieu of condemnation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to purchase the properties located at
47 N.E. 58th Street, 5827 N.E. Miami Court; 5835 N.E. Miami Court;
42 N.E. 59th Street; 5828 N.E. Miami Place, all in Miami, Florida,
legally described as:

for the development of a neighborhood park for the use of citizens
in the Edison Center area, for the sum of One Hundred Twenty Nine
Thousand Four Hundred Forty ($129,440) Dollars.
Section 2. The amount of Seventy Thousand ($70,000)
Dollars be and it is hereby allocated from the 1972 Parks & Recrea-
tion Facilities Bond Fund, and the amount of Sixty -Five Thousand
($65,000) Dollars from the Third Year Community Development Funds,
to cover the cost of acquisition of fee simple title to this
property and other costs incidental to this acquisition,

By memorandum dated January 9, 1976, authorization was given to begin the
acquisition of property as indicated on the copy of the Plat attached hereto
Funds for the acquisitions are provided by Community Development and Parks
Por People Bond Fund jointly.
Solicitations for proposals were sent to nineteen (19) appraisers, with six
(6) responses. The two appraisers selected were the lowest proposals received.
The pertinent facts regarding this acquisition are as follows: -

Dollars be and it is hereby allocated from the 1972 Parks & Recreation Facilities
Bond Fund, to cover the cost of acquisition of fee simple title to this property
and other costs incidental to this acquisition.
