A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO BEGIN DISCUSSIONS WITH MIAMI WORLD TRADE
CENTER, INC., CONCERNING CITY PARTICIPATION
IN THE POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF A WORLD TRADE
CENTER IN THE AREA OF THE CITY -OWNED DALLAS
PARK COMPLEX.
WHEREAS, Miami World Trade Center, Inc, has been
.designated the exclusive developer of a World Trade Center
for Miami by the World Trade Centers Association; and
WHEREAS, Miami World Trade Center, Inc. has requested
the City of Miami's cooperation and participation in the develop-
ment of a World Trade Center for Miami insofar as City -owned
'property may be involved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into discussions with Miami World Trade Centers, Inc.
to explore possible avenues of City participation and assistance
in the development of a World Trade Center in the area of the
City -owned Dallas Park Complex.

Re: Request for an appearance before the City Commission; Presentation
by Miami World Trade Center, Inc.

Dear Joe:
The above referenced company respectfully requests an opportunity to appear
before the Commission of the City of Miami at its meeting scheduled for
July 28, 1977, for discussion and consideration of the following:
1. To advise the City Commission that Miami World Trade Center, Inc.
has been designated the exclusive developer of a world trade center for Miami
by the World Trade Centers Association headquartered in New York.
2. To request consideration of and permission to erect a World Trade
Center at the site of the City owned Dallas Park property.
3. To ask that the Commission instruct the City Manager to negotiate
on behalf of the City of Miami for its participation in the proposed feasibility
study for the project.
4. TO begin negotiation with the City of Miami for use of the air
rights above the aforementioned property, which shall be subject to the results
of the feasibility study.
We look forward to making this presentation and hope that the presentation will
mark the beginning of the development of Miami's most significant downtown
international business project.

Presentation by Miami World 'Trade Center, Ind., before
the Miami City Commission on July 28, 1977
Miami World Trade Center Inc., represented by Mr. Ting Pei and
Mt, Peter F. Paul, Esq., joined by Mr. Alex Baker of the World Trade Centers
Association, shall advise the Commission of its designation by the World
Trade Centers Association as the exclusive member for
the

acknowledge this exclusive designation and instruct the City Manager to com-
mence negotiations for the City's participation in a feasibility study dir-
ected toward the development of a World Trade Center structure on the City
owned Dallas Park property, in conjunction with the development of the Knight
Conference/Convention Center.
Mr,paul and Mr. Pei will advise the Commission of the background, strength
and experience of the company's principals in the World Trade Center development
field. Mr. Baker will advise the Commission on the World Trade Centers Association
and the significance of its exclusive designation of Miami World Trade Center
Inc., as its Miami member for the development of a World Trade Center structure
here.

I am happy to inform you that the Board of Directors of the
World Trade Centers Association has approved the application of the Miami
World Trade Center, Inc. for exclusive Associate membership in the
Association. This means that as long as you remain a member in good
standing and make steady progress towards the establishment of the Miami
World Trade Center, consistent with the policies of the World Trade Centers
Association, the Board will not accept any other organization for membership
that seeks to establish a world trade center in Miami.
I welcome your project in Miami to the growing network of
world trade centers in operation or planned all over the globe, and I am
