The City has received reimbursement from Metropolitan Dade County
of $42,181 for costs incurred by the Fire Department during the
1976 Ambulance Strike.
Projected expenditures for the remainder of fiscal year 1976-71 ih
the Fire Department indicate a need for an increased appropriation
to fund Florida Power and Light charges for electrical service at
all Fire Department stations and buildings.
It is recommended that the funds from Dade County be used to offset
anticipated increases in the Fire Department electrical service
account.
The attached proposed ordinance would increase appropriations and
General Fund revenues in the Fire Department by $42,181, which is
the amount received from Metropolitan Dade County as reimbursement
for City expenditures incurred during the 1976 Ambulance Strike.
