Blinding "C" Renovation

The City received bids for the renovation of Building
"C" on June 30, 1977. Two bids were received and the
apparent low bidder is Ed. Ricke & Sons, Inc., in the
amount of $795,000 which is within the funds available
for this project.
Prior to receiving bids and subsequent to the receipt
of bids, members of my staff have been working with
leaders in this community to make sure that the City's
renovating the building was what the community wanted.
There were three options available:
1. Renovating the building;
2. Demolishing the existing building and
constructing a new one;
3. To join with HUD in a joint development
on the same site.
As yet, there has been no final determination as to which
offer is most acceptable. There are pretty good indications
that the project will either be for renovation or recon-
struction. A resolution has been prepared which will
authorize me to move in whichever direction the community
finally accepts.
