Fette Mayot, City of Miami P. O. Box 330708 Miami, Florida 33133 Dear Mayor Ferre: As we have done on two previous occasions recently, we are requesting another appearance at the Miami City Commission on July 21, 1977. Representatives from Kaiser Transit Group (KTC) and my staff would like to discuss two forthcoming policy decisions affecting the City of Miami which will be brought before the Board of County Commissioners. The first is thc... formal County Cannission public hearing, on July 28, concerning the location Of rapid transit stations in Station Group #3. As you know from the presentation made on June 16 to the Miami City Commission, the Citizens Couunittec has arrived at several recommenda— tions, including locating one station in the vicinity of the southwest corner of Southwest 27th Avenue and U.S. 1. A combination station in the area of Southwest 32nd Road, also known as Five Points, has also been recannended by the Committce with support from the City of Miami Planning Department. This recommended station location would replace the two stations, one at Southwest 17th Avenue and one at Southwest 26th Road. The Miami City Commission is encouraged to express its views regarding these proposed locations to the Board of County Commissioners. A second major policy decision relates to the Civic Center alignment. The KTG recommendation will be published about July 14 with a public hearing scheduled for early September. Since the City Commission may not meet in August, the meeting on July 21 would appear timely in the 14 yit Maurice Perre Cage Two event the City of Miami may wish to transmit a recommendation fit' Consideration of the Board of County Commissioners, If you have any questions, please contact me. :erely, hn A.
