A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING THE PRIVATE
PROPERTY LIMITATION FOR SPECIAL EVENTS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER
52/ARTICLE I/SECTION 2 OF THE CODE OF CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, TITLED, "SPECIAL EVENTS/SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT/SPECIAL
EVENTS IN GENERAL; DURATION AND LIMITATIONS; CITY COMMISSION
WAIVER" FOR THE DOLCE & GABBANA EXHIBITION BEING HELD AT THE
INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ART LOCATED AT 23 NORTHEAST 41
STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA FROM MARCH 5, 2026 THROUGH JUNE 14, 2026.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended "(City Code"), a Special Event may occur on public or private property; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(g), "[n]o more than four special events shall be
permitted, each for a maximum duration of seven consecutive days, to be held on the same
private property or portion thereof per calendar year"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(i), "The above limitations on Special Events may
be waived by an affirmative vote of the City Commission for the calendar year affected. Any
such additional Permit(s), however, will be limited to fourteen (14) consecutive days at a time";
and
WHEREAS, the Dolce & Gabbana Exhibition ("Event") has a Special Event Permit from
February 5, 2026, through March 4, 2026, which is the maximum amount of time allowed
pursuant to the City Code for the Event at 23 Northeast 41 Street, Miami, Florida ("Event Site");
and
WHEREAS, the organizers would like the Event to continue through June 14, 2026,
which requires a waiver of this Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Event is an immersive walk-through showcasing the history and impact
of Dolce & Gabbana to the world of fashion and art; and
WHEREAS, after a private opening celebration on February 5, 2026, the Event will be
open to the public for both local residents and visitors to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site is still required to apply for and have issued any
required City of Miami ("City") or other jurisdictional permits as provided for by law and to ensure
life -safety and quality of life issues and appropriate conditions may be imposed on each permit;
and
WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site has been beneficial to the City's residents and
visitors;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 52-2 of the City Code, titled "Special Events in General;
Duration and Limitations; City Commission Waiver," the limitation of no more than four (4)
Special Events for seven (7) days each per calendar year is hereby waived pursuant to Section
52-2(i) of the City Code to allow the Dolce & Gabbana Exhibition to continue from March 5,
2026 through June 14, 2026.
Section 3. This Resolution does not waive any other requirements of the City Code,
including but not limited to, noise restrictions, applicable fees, inspections, and permits.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
