CItY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE
ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public hotice, sealed bids were received
May 20) 1977 for the furhishing of shotgunscarbines and magadines"for.
the Department of Police; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to forty-sik potential
attd seven bids were received; and.
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available i
iscal,Year Budget; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will `be';used by the Department
for the purpose of training and use by the Patrol Section; and
t'JHEREAS, the City Manager and the. Department of Police
that:the bid received from Outdoor Sports Headquarters, Inc.
as the.most advantageous bid to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF.THE'C1TY'OF

Pursuant to Public NOtice, sealed bids were received May 20,
1977 for furnishing shotguns, carbines and MagaZines fer the
Oepartment of Police,
• Invitations were mailed to rotty-six potential suppliers and
seven bids were received as per the attached tabulation,
Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the 1976-197/
Fiscal Year Budget.
This is a replacement purchase which will be utilized by the
Patrol section in training and general use.
• The total cost of this purchase is $18,319.71. However, 163
• shotguns and 70 carbines of various manufacture are to be •
traded in for $9,819.00 which makes the net cost of the pur-
chase $8,500.71. The trade in of present weapons will enable •
the Police Department to standardize with the safety buttons,
slide releases and the method of unloading being in the same
location on all shotguns.
It is requested that the award be made and a resolution be
prepared accepting the most advantageous bid as received
from Outdoor Headquarters, Inc. for furnishing shotguns,
carbines and magazines for the Department, of Police at a
total cost of $8,500.71.
The Department of Police concurs with this recommendation. ,

the lowest meeting all specifications. Mike Cowen,
'Public-.Safety-Deices,Inc. submitteda lower.bid
on an alternate which did not meet specifications.
ADDITIONAL"',INFOROATION: This is, a<replacement purchase which will be utilized
