A RE80tt1TION DECLARING BEERSHEBA,
IS%AEL AS A SISTER CiTY AND REQUEST.,
INC APPROVAL OF SISTER CITY INTERNATIONAL
OF THE AFORESAID DECLARATION,
:WHEREAS, Rabbi Solomon Schiff, Director -of
Chaplaincy for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation traveled;
to Beersheba, Israel, in the Spring of 1976, together with a
delegation of distinguished Jewish leaders including Morton
Silberman, President of the Jewish Federation, and his wife, and
thereby established an accord with Mayor Eliyahu Naayi of
said city, for future Sister City status; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of
establishing Beersheba, Israel, as a Sister City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF, THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Beersheba, Israel, is hereby declared
a Sister City of the City of Miami, Florida, and approval from
Sister City International of the aforesaid declaration is hereby
requested.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21 - day of JUNE

on June 210 1977 passed and adopted Resolution No.77.526 declaring
