Professor Foley had previously discussed your ideas with you, but this was my first chance to hear theta. Events of recent years seem to suggest that a significant proportion of society is beginning to catch up with your recognition of the need. to redirect many of out resources to other uses. The desirability of a reorder ing of economic prioritie enerally accepted. How to accomplish it is.. the difficult question. Your suggestion ttat a portion of the money supply -"----The desiifnare.i'as available for priority loans to provide employment and socioeconomic services such as housing is an interesting pro osal that deserves careful study and consideration. Your resolution should call for ;:ayor Ferro to request that a ?'led:eable member of our group accompany him to assist in a thoroush rresentation of our proposal to the Conference's officers, staff, and committees. You each have reference material replete with reasons why this commission should pass such resolution; but the last paragraph in 'reference item 10' letter from the Chairman of Economics, University of Miami, explains them very well. The benefits which would ensue to Senior Citizens, Youths, and hard Employables, etc., give further reasons as explained in 'reference item 9 A&B.' WE MUST start somewhere to mitigate the problems of Unemployment & Inflation. There ARE solutions! The chart attached to 'reference item 8' graphically exposes the core of the problem. A 304% increase in MONEY SUPPLY, but only 345 increase in NEW JOBS...proves the urgent need for PRIORITY USE OF OUR MONEY SUPPLY if we are ever to solve our socio.economic problems -- rather than thru priority use of our Tax funds. In closing we again URGE this commission to pass the resolution, and thus join in another step forward to help overcome Unemployment and Inflation.
