OF THE ANNUAL "SEA CIRCUS" EVENT, CO -SPONSORED
BY THE CITY OF MIAMI, SUBJECT TO THE MARINE
COUNCIL OF GREATER MIAMI HAVING OBTAINED LIABILITY
INSURANCE IN SUCH AMOUNTS FROM APPROVED CARRIERS
AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE BY THE CITY MANAGER FOR THE
PROTECTION OF THE CITY.

the City of Miami has been a co-sponsor With the
Marine Council of Greater. Miami in the presentation of the annual
"Sea
Circus" event; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami, in the past, has given use
of the stadium, administrative staff, sound technician, off -duty
patrols, cleanup, electricity, and other related services free of
charge, excluding charges for insurance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City co-sponsorship and the use of the
Marine Stadium by the Miami Council of Greater Miami is hereby ratified
and approved for Saturday, June 4, 1977 from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for
the presentation of the annual "Sea Circus", co -sponsored by the City of
Miami, subject to the Marine Council of Greater Miami having obtained
liability insurance in such amounts and from approved carriers as the
City Manager deemed appropriate for the protection of the City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9 day of June, 1977.

AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE THE NECESSARY CONTRACT(S) AND/OR AGREE'.

AUTHORIZING A NECESSARY OUTLAY OF REIMBURSABLE
FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED $9,000.00 FROM BUDGETED

Ccffineil � of
Greater Miami ,requested free daytime
use of the Miami 'Marine Stadium for
the 15th annual showing of the "Sea
Circus" on June 4, 1977. Since the
Marine Council was tardy in submitting
their request, the Resolution will have
to be considered on a ratifying basis
for the next Commission meeting.
For the past fourteen years the City
of Miami. has cosponsored this safety
afloat show, with the Marine Council of
Greater Miami,providing free use of the
Miami Marine Stadium, assistance of the
Administrative Staff and other event
personnel. They request that the City
absorb direct costs of event personn.el-
1.) Soundman and(2.; patrols, in an
estimated amount of $150.00,
,The Marine Council accepts the responsi
bility for the various high --hazard liability
insurance -fees, and has paid the $35.00
.Special Event insurance fee to the City.

Mr, Grassie, the Miami Marine Stadium has been reserved, thru
the good offices of Agnes Stradley, Manager, fbr the hours 8:00
AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, 4 June 1977,
At that time the 15th annual presentation of the "Sea Circus"
will be held. This event is a safety afloat show sponsored by
the Marine Council for 14 years and this year co -sponsored by
the Marine Council with the Greater Miami Marine Association pro-
viding operational direction,
We respectfully ask that you request the City Commission through
appropriate resolution to approve this reservation, which, as
in the past, includes the City of Miami as a sponsor.of this
event and has provided that the City absorb all the direct costs
including event personnel costs such as communications tech-
nicians, patrols custodians, manager, and office attendant
salaries.
In addition, we request that the City provide as part of its
insurance policy, insurance for this ent`payable by the Marine>
Council in the sum of approximatel($99,00.'
