Enclosed is a new agreement for the part-time employment of
t1iatni"Dade Community College students during the Academic
Year July 1, 1977 through June 30, 1978.
Current legislation provides that the federal governtnetnt°s
contribution for the academic year is to be 80% and the oatt
campus agency reimbursement to the college is to be
In compliance with the Fair tabor Standards Amendments Of
1974, the hourly wage for students has been set by our
Board of Trustees at $2.30 per hour. Recommend you consider
`the increased wage rate in establishing budgets for next
year.
Please execute the agreement as expeditiously as possible
and return one copy to this office.

Organization), (strike one), within the meaning of that term as defined in
Section 175.2 of the College Work4Study Regulations, for the purpose of prom
viding work to students eligible to participate in the College Wotk=Study
Program,
Schedules to be attached to this agreement from time to time, bearing the
Signature of an authorized official of the College and of the Agency, will
set forth brief descriptions of the work to be performed by students under
this agreement, the total number of students to be employed, the hourly rates
Of pay, and the total number of hours per week each student will be utilized.
These schedules will also state the total length of time the project is ex-
pected to run and the total percent of the non -Federal share of student coin.

Students will be employed by the College and made available to the Agency
by the College for performance of specific work assignments. Students may
be removed from work on a particular assignment or from the Agency only by
the College, either on its own initiative or at the request of the Agency.
The Agency agrees that no student will be denied work or subjected to different
:treatment under this agreement on the grounds of race, color, religion, or
national origin; and that it will comply with the provisions of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964. (P.L. SS-332; 7S Stat. 232) and the Regulations of
the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare which implement that Act.
Transportation for students to and from their work assignments will not be
,provided by either the College or the Agency.
Compensation of students for work performed on a project under this agreement
gill be paid by the College, which shall be deemed the employer of the students;
and all payments due as an employer's contribution under Federal or State social
security laws, or under other applicable laws, will be made by the College.
At the end of each month, the Agency will pay the College an amount to cover
the agency's share of the compensation of students employed under this agreement..
''.While the College will be deemed the employer of students participating in any
project under this agreement, the Agency will be responsible for the direct
supervision of work performed and will maintain and make available to the college
the names and qualifications of Agency supervisors. The Agency will also provide
to the College a record of the hours worked weekly by each student. This record
:vi11 be attested to by an authorized official of the Agency.

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT! The Agency agrees that the work performed under
Section 175.4 (c) of the College:dork.Study Regulations must either be
related to the studentseducational objective or be Work in the publit
interest. It is further agreed by the Agency that this work must be Work
Which Would otherwise be provided; will not displace employed workers
or impair existing contracts for services, and will be governed by such
conditions of employment, including compensation, as will be appropriate
and reasonable in light of such factors as tha type of work performed,
proficiency of the employee, and geographic region of employment. It
is further agreed by the Agency that this work will not involve political
activity cr work for any political party, Further, that no project under
this agreement will involve the construction,,operation, or maintenance of
any facility used for religious instruction of worship.
3. REFERRAL: The College agrees to refer to the Agency students eligible to
participate in the College Work -Study Program.
NUMBER TO BE ACCEPTED: It is understood that the Agency will not be

required to select more than 20 studenN for employment, and that
all students must meet the requirements of the Agency before being employed• .
5. REQUIREME1,,: OF AGECY: The College understands and agrees that the students
• selected for employment shall be required to comply with the Agency's normal
routine pre -employment requirements, including, without limitation thereeo,
the completion of necessary forms and the taking of any physical examinations*
If the Agency does require physical examinations to be made of the students, •
the examinations shall be made at the expense of the Agency.
6. HOURLY WAGE: The students employed under this Agreement as Recreation
Leaders shall be paid $2.30 per hour for work performed.
