PROWL=E THAT_,THE_TERM FOR THE CONTRACT WITH
taCKE1HUT CORPORATION FOR THE FURNISHING OF
5` CUR1TY PERSONNEL, AND DOGS tOR_.ORANGE BOWL
EVENTS SHALL BE 15 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE
AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE FIRST TERM, THE TWO
SUCCESSIVE TERMS AT THE OPTION OF THE CITY TO BE
12 MONTHS EACH; FURTHER AMENDING THE RESOLUTION
TO PROVIDE THAT WACKENHUT SHALL BE EXPECTED TO
PROVIDE SAID SECURITY PERSONNEL FOR APPROXIMATELY
20 EVENTS,MORE OR LESS,AS REQUIRED,ON A PER HOUR
PER PERSON AND PER EVENT PER DOG BASIS, AND
OTHERWISE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF THE
ATTACHED AGREEMENT; FUNDS THEREFOR TO BE A PART
OF THE PUBLIC FACILITIES DEPARTMENT BUDGET.
WHEREAS the bid of Wackenhut Corporation for the: `provision
security for Orange Bowl events was accepted by Resolution
1018; and
WHEREAS, that resolution provided that the term of
contract shall be one year from the date of award, ith the City
the option to renew for two one year periods; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to extend the term of the
contract period to 15 months in order to assure continuity of
security for Orange Bowl events throughout the football season;, and.
WHEREAS, the compensation to Wackenhut will be on a per
event basis and said funds are to be provided from the Department of,
Public Facilities budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Resolution No. 76-1018 is hereby amended to
provide that the term of the contract with Wackenhut for the furnishing
f security personnel and dogs for Orange Bowl events shall be 15 months
from the date of the award of contract for the first term, the two
successive terms at the option of the City to be 12 months each,

of this Agreement, and •to comply with all City, County, State,
and Federal rules, regulations, and laws now in force or hereafter

J. That all personnel furnished under the terms of this
Agreement shall be covered by Workmen's Compensation; Unemployment
Compensation; and liability insurance as approved by the City
Insurance Manager and copy of which is provided to the City
Insurance Manager for file. The public liability insurance
policy shall be in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence,

agents, or its representatives; and from and against all costs,
attorney' s fees, expenses, and liabilities incurred in the defense
f any such claim or investigation thereof.
