A RESOLUTION CRATING AND. ,ESTABLISHING, A
;CITIZEN`S MI COMTTEE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
Of-WATSON ISLAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING
kECREATIONAL AND AMUSEMENT FACILITIES FOR
THE ENJOYMENT OF RESIDENTS AND TOURISTS,
FURTHER DESCRIBING THE COMMITTEE'S STRUCTURE,
TERMS OF OFFICE AND PROVIDING FOR INITIAL
APPOINTMENTS OF INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE ON THIS
COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to maintain and provide
a mechanism for ongoing review of and consultation with professionals
td others in connection with the, proposed development of city owned
Watson Island and to provide for citizen input on specific issues
related to this development; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Commission to create and
establish a Committee for the Development of Watson Island to accomplish
the above purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OFMIAMI FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Committee for the Development of Watson Island
is hereby created and established.
Section 2. The purpose of this Committee is to study, review,
and make recommendations to the City Commission on all matters pertaining
to the development of Watson Island for the purpose of building recre-
ational and amusement facilities for the enjoyment of residents and
tourists, and to act on specific matters as directed by the Commission
from time to time.
Section 3. The Commission will make every reasonable effort
to see that ultimately the Committee will represent as large a cross-
section of citizens of Miami as is possible and practical.
Section 4. The Committee will consist of five (5) Executive
Members, including the chairperson, and a number of additional General
Members not to exceed twenty (20). Total Committee membership will
not exceed twenty-five (25):

Members will
be appoihted .forthwith by the Commission to serge at its
pleasure. General Members will be appointed at such titles as the
Commission deems appropriate and will serve at the pleasure of the
Cotttttiission: Vacancies on the Committee shall be filled by the CoM=
mission when deemed necessary by the Commission.
Section 6. All meeting times, places, and frequency thereof
shall be designated by the chairperson. The txecutive_Members of
the Committee will meet in public at times and places when it is
impractical for the entire Committee to meet: The Chairperson will
call general public meetings of the entire Committee whenever s/he
deems it necessary and practical.
Section 7. The committee shall establish its own rules
rocedutes not inconsistent with Roberts Rules of Order.
Section 8. The Committee shall make an annual report in
writingto the Commission in May of each year, or upon request
Commission, and said report shall be submitted to the Commission
through the office of the City Manager.
Section 9. The Committee shall be dissolved and all Members'.
shall expire when the development project is completed and
accepted by the Commission.
