Dear Sir`
Re t Inditlerator
SALVAOt and Demential
phase it, Job #B=2715
In our letter of May 5, 1977, we fully explained our request fOr
and additional $8,500.00 for the removal of salvage items from
the above captioned project, which were incorporated in our
Bid Proposal as per plans and specifications.
For this project, we brought from New York, three demolition
specialists in this line of work, advancing them and their
families, travel expense to Miami. Upon their arrival , we rented
furnished apartments for each. Upon being advised that the additional
$8,500.00 would not be granted, the contract became Null and Void,
inasmuch as the job could not be turned over to us as per Plans and
Specifications. We then, had to send the crew back to New York, and
again had to advance them the return to New York along with the time
lost in salaries, and we had to absorb all expenses incurred while
they were in Miami.
In addition to the above, we incurred a Bid Bond Fee, Perfortn:•nce
Bond Fee along with an additional fee for the $1,000,000 coverage
required, all these amounts had to he paid prior to delivery of
the instruments and certificates. There is a possability that we
may recover a portion of the fees paid after we explain to the
respective insurance companies the reason for the cancellation of
the coverages.
In view of the aforestated, our outlay of funds for this project
to date is $3,000.00.
To accept your contract, we would require an additional $11,500.00
which would increase the Contract Amount to $78,700.00, and justified
in our request as the vandalism of the incinerator was in your
Custody and Control and thus your liability and responsibility.
Ver,,truly yours,

Dear Sir:
As per your request, we herewith Submit our request for an additional
EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ($$,500►00) DOLLARS, due to the loss of
all brass valves which were ruined for resale, as all bonnets were
removed by others, while in your custody and control as we have not
been given the "Notice to Proceed". The entire incinerator has also
been completely stripped of all heavy copper cable. All these items
were incorporated in your SALVAGE portion of your invitation to bid,
and a vital part of our Bid Proposal.
We had all brass valves sold as reuseables, prior to submitting our
bid on this job. Needless to say, upon reviewing the attached bid
results, the other bidders were not selling the valves as useable.
We presently have seventeen power plants and paper mills under contract
throughout the United States and a large paper mill in British Van Cotive•-
We generate more reuseables than any one demolition contractor in the
United States, which naturally gives us a great advantage in resales.
We would greatly appreciate your issuance of a Change -Order to increase
our contract for the additional $8,500.00, as the above stated items
will not be turned over to us in accordance with the Plans and
Specifications.
