THE POLICE DEPARTMENT: ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE 1976-1917
AND 1977-=1970 FISCAL YEAR BUDGETS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THESE

WHEREAS,%ihvitations were.mail'ed to thirty-three potential•sup�
pliers'and ten bids•were recoived;,and
WHEREAS, funds for 'this purchase are available in the 1 76 i977
and 1977,,197E Fiscal Year Budgets; aid
.WHEREAS, these materials will be 'tided by the Department of Police`:
for. the purpose of replenishing supplies in'the Training Program, Pistol.
'Range and Justice Programs: and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the•Department of Police'recotnmend
Abet the bids received from Federal Cartridge Corporation, Zero Bullet:
•Company, Southern Gun Distributors, Jones Equipment Company, Haszks•
Workshop, Incorporated be accepted as the most advantageous bids to
the:City;

dat.t: of award for'thc Department of Police.
Invitations were mailed to thirty-three potential suppliers and ten'
bids were received as per the attached tabulation
Funds for this purchase are available in the 1976.1977 and 1977-1978
Fiscal Year Budgets,
The ammunition is utilized in the Miami Police Departments Firearms
Training Programs at the Miami Police Department Pistol Range and
the Institute of Criminal Justice Programs. In addition, fresh ammu-
nition is required to be issued to the Department's personnel and to;
be stored for emergencies.
It is requested that the awards be made and a resolution: be prepared,
accepting the most advantageous bids as received from the following
for furnishing ammunition on a contract basis for one year fromdate
of award for the Department of Police.
