he liquidators of Pinewood Gardens Limited, the developers
'inewood Gardens sub -division, have obtained a temporary
notion against the Receivers of the company who were
ointed by millionaire Alexis Nihon, the principal mortgagee
b division.

MIAMII, Florida — A weekend
Bahamian -American festival
featuring the Royal Bahamas Police
Force Rand and scores of 13ahamiar
entertainers, lecturers, dancers and
athletes will take place June 4 and 5 in
the Coconut Grove community in
Miami.
According to Basil Albury, General
Manager, Development, Ministry of
Tourism, the event will highlight the
I50-year history of the Bahamas
contribution to the development of
Southeast Florida. part of this
nation's "roots" phenomenon.
Baharniars were some of the first
settlers of Coconut Grove.
A group of 50 straw vendors from
Nassau will be joined by some 400
other Bahamian and Miami artists,
crafts people, and vendors of tropical
plants, fresh produce. historical ar-
tifacts, and Bahamian products are
exp.•cted to hoe the streets where
major events will take place opening
day.
These will include official welcomes
to the .Bahamians followed by an
opening parade at noon along the
festival route led by the Police Band,
junkanoo dancers, rake and scrape
bands, and jump -in dancers.
An old-timers' chowder and get-
tegether will follow, then a Junior
Junkanoo parade, lectures on obeah,
traditional Bahamian bush medicine,
Bahamian dialect, and other subjects,
non-stop films of early days in
Coconut Grove and the Bahamas,
exhibits of Bahamian jewellery,
photography and publications, mall -
blowing contests, walking tours, a
marathon, fashion shows from.
Andros and Nassau. and in the
evening, a Bahamas Gocmbay parade
ir. the Grove.
Sunday events vvill include special
services in many Coconut Grove
churches, with guest preachers from
the Bahamas, special gospel singing
concerts and traditional Bahamian
"hangover" breakfasts.
A parade at mid -day. led by the
Royal Bahamas Police Band, wiU
direct festivities into Peacock Park
where events include an international
soccer match. entertainment by
numerous musical and dance groups,
limbo contests, and ir. the evening. a
Bahamian Junkarco Revue featuring
several well known Bahamian en-
tertainers.

including varieties of conch and
seafood dishes, johnnycakes. peas and
rice. and such delicac es as Bahamian
pastries and soursop ice cream.
