AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER
38/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED,
TITLED "PARKS AND RECREATION/IN GENERAL," BY CREATING SECTION 38-40,
TITLED "NAMING OF SUPERHERO PARK," TO PROVIDE FOR THE NAMING OF
THE PROPERTY CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 14,200 SQUARE FEET
LOCATED AT 235 NORTHWEST 26 AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA AS "SUPERHERO
PARK"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL
ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE NAMING OF THE PARK;
CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE
EFFECTIVE DATE.

TITLED "PARKS AND RECREATION/IN GENERAL," BY CREATING SECTION 38-40,
TITLED "NAMING OF SUPERHERO PARK," TO PROVIDE FOR THE NAMING OF
THE PROPERTY CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 14,200 SQUARE FEET
LOCATED AT 235 NORTHWEST 26 AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA AS "SUPERHERO
PARK"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL
ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE NAMING OF THE PARK;
CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City owns an assemblage of property consisting of approximately
14,200 square feet, located at 235 Northwest 26 Avenue, Miami Florida (the "Park"), within the
Glen Royal neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to name the Park "Superhero Park" to promote youth play
and community programming for children and families;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are
hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Chapter 38/Article I of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is
further amended in the following particulars:1
"CHAPTER 38
PARKS AND RECREATION
ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL
Sec. 38-40. Naming of Superhero Park.
The assemblage of land consisting of approximately 14,200 square feet located at 235
Northwest 26 Avenue, Miami, Florida shall be named "Superhero Park."

added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and

Section 3. The City Manager is directed to take any and all administrative actions
necessary to effectuate the renaming of the said Park.
Section 4. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this
Emergency Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not
be affected.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately after final reading and
adoption thereof.2

2 This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the effective
date stated herein. whichever is later.
