HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-08642RPC tb 4/1/77 ORDINANCE NO, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 or ORD/NANCR No. 8345, ADOPTED JANUARY 10, 1975, AS AMENDED, 8Y ELIMINATING 'THEREFROM Tt4E APPROPRIATION POR PALM BLIGHT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OP $ 50, 010.19 AND REAPPROPRUATING SAID AMOUNT POR PARR MECHANIZATION RESERVE PUNb1NG TO RE USED DUR- ING FISCAL YEAR 1976-77. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OP THE CITY OP MIAMI, FLORIDA Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. B345, adopted January 10, 1975, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following partic- i/ ulars: Section 1. The following funds from Federal Revenue Sharing punds Fiscal Year 1973-74 shall be appropriated for the purposes outlined below for the ?fiscal Year 1974-7St 1. parks and Recreation * fe}--Peim-S1•ight-Pregram $S07e101.19 TOTAL $373657999z35 $3, 315,919.12 Section 2. The sum of $50,010.19 resulting from the elimination of the aforesaid appropriation as set forth in Section 1 hereof is hereby reappropriated for Parks Mechanization Reserve Funding to be used during Fiscal Year 1976-77. Section 3. All ordinances, code sections or parts thereof in conflict herewith, insofar as they are in conflict, are hereby repealed. Section 3. If any section, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held or declared to be uncon- stitutional, invalid, inoperative or void, such holding or invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and it shall be construed to have been the intent of the City Commission to 1/ Words stricken through shall be deleted. Both the Palm blight P d the Parrs E�teehanzatioh Program ate funded byFederal Revenue and administered' by the.Parks'and Recreation bepartment. The Palm Blight Program was originally funded in FY 1974=75 to combat the lethal.yellowing of the Oity's palm trees. Most of the affected palms have now been removed and there is no longer a need for the services of the contractor that performed theremoval services. ,The remaining affected palm trees that are in need of removal.will be handled by the Parks and Recreation and Public Works'Departments The.reappropriated funds will be used to augment the $45,000 Mechani- zation budget that is now used to maintain' and operate esisting,` mechanized park equipment.
