FOR THIS MATERIAL,
t,1NEREAS) pursuant to public hotieel sealed bids were
April 8 1977 for the furnishing of 97,000 square yards of Bermuda
sod for the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty-seven potential sup.
pliers and six bids Were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the F3syfroht
Park Beautification, Phase I, Title X Fund; and
WHEREAS, this material will be used by the Department of Perks
and Recreation for the purpose of sodding in the Bayfront Park Im-
provement program; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks and
Recreation recommend that the bid received from Southern Turf
Nurseries be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The April 8, 1977 bid of Southern Turf Nurseries
for furnishing 97,000 square yards of Bermuda sod at a total cost
of $8,730.00 is hereby accepted with funds hereby allocated from
the Bayfront Park Beautification, Phase I, Title X Fund.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue the Purchase Order for
this material.

Funds for this project are to be allocated from the
Bayfront Park Beautification, Phase I, Title X Fund.
The sod is required as part of the Bayfront Park Improve-
ment program.
It is requested that the award be made and a resolution
be prepared accepting the most advantageous bid as re-
ceived from Southern Turf Nurseries for furnishing 97,000
square feet of Bermuda sod for the Department of Parks
and Recreation.
The Department of Parks and Recreation concurswith this
recommendation.
