A RE6OLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF OBENOUR
ROOFING SHEET METAL & SUPPLY CO. IN THE
PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $5,700 FOR THE EDISON
PARK BATHHOUSE REROOFING 1977: WITH FUNbS
THEREFOR PROGRAMMED AND BUDGETED UNDER THE
"COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM": AND AUTHORI a
ING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH SAID FIRM.
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received April
for the EbISON PARK BATHHOUSE REROOFING - 1977; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports the $5,700
Obenour Roofing Sheet Metal & Supply Co. is the lowest
Bible bid and recommends that a contract be awarded to

WHEREAS, funds have been programmed and budgeted
under the "Community Development Program" for the proposed
amount of the contract, for project expense, and for such items
as advertising, testing laboratories and postage;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF

THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The April 6, 1977 bid I r bekux x•oil,uy
Sheet Metal & Supply Co. in the proposed amount of $5,700 for
the project entitled EDISON PARK BATHHOUSE REROOFING - 1977,
namely Base Bid of Proposal, based on lump sum bid is hereby
accepted at the price stated therein, with funds therefor
programmed and budgeted under the "Community Development Program'
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with
Obenour Roofing Sheet Metal & Supply Co. for EDISON PARK
BATHHOUSE REROOFING - 1977.

The.project consists of removing the existing roofing and installing;
a. tied roof on the 8disou Park Bathhoube 3 iodated at 525 Nt146 62
Street, Miami., Florida.
A11 bids shall be submitted in accordance With the Instructions. to
Bidders and Specifications. Plans and Specifications may be obtained
'from the Office of the Director, Department of Public Works, 3332
Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. Plans and specifications are
to be returned in good condition and unmarked within 30 days after
bids have been received.
Proposal includes the time of performance and Specifications contain
provisions for liquidated damages for failurre to complete the work
on time.
The City Commission reserves :the right to Waive any informality in
,aany bid, and the City Manager may reject any or all bids, and re�-
advertise.
In addition to these measures Contractors and Subcontractors will be
required to comply with the provisions of Section 3 (Federal Regular
tions) which requires all developers, contractors and sub -contractors
create feasible opportunities to employ and train residents in the
area of the project; and give preference In sub -contracting and
purchasing of materials to businesses located in or owned in sub-
stanti.al part by persons residing in the area of the project.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after actual date of
the opening thereof, unless modified in Division 2 - Special Conditions
of the Specifications. The estimated construction cost of this project
is $5,500 and is to be funded by the Community Development Block Grant
Monies.
Those minority or target area contractors/small businesses interested
in submitting bids, are advised that The City of Miami Office of
Community Development has an agreement with Minority Contractors
Association of Dade County, Inc. to provide technical' assistance
in putting together bid packages.
