RESOLUTION NO, 77-353
RESOLUTION AUTHORI7INC JEFFERSON STORES, INC,
TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN A BRIDGE OVER NORTHEAST
15TH TERRACE TO CONNECT ITS PROPOSED PARRINC
GARAGE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SAID STREET AT SOME
POINT ABOVE THE SECOND FLOOR TO ITS EXISTING
STORE BUILDING ON THE SOUTH SIDE CP SAID STREET,
PROVIDING THAT ALL REQUIREMENTS OE THE BUILDING:
CODE AND THE LAWS OF THE CITY ARE COMPLIED WITH,
AND AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO
EXECUTE ANY AND ALL PERMITS NECESSARY TO CARRY
OUT THE INTENT AND PURPOSE OF THIS RESOLUTION,
WHEREAS, JEFFERSON STORES, INC, submitted to the Zoning
Board its proposal to construct and maintain a pedestrian bridge
over Northeast 15th Terrace to connect its store with a proposed
parking garage to be erected on the north side of said street,
which proposal was approved by said Board; and
WHEREAS, the plans for the erection of said bridge have
been presented to and approved by the Building Department of the
City of Miami;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Jefferson Stores, Inc. be, and it is
hereby, authorized to construct and maintain a bridge over Northeast
15th Terrace to connect the proposed parking garage on the north
side of said street with the existing store building on the south
side of said street above the second floor, in accordance with the
plans on file with the Building Department.
Section 2. That the plans for the construction of said
bridge shall in all respects conform to the provisions of the
Building Code of the City of Miami and be in compliance with the
laws of the City of Miami.
Section 3. That the proper officials of the City of Miami
be, and they are hereby, authorized and instructed to execute any
and all permits necessary to carry out the intent and purpose of
this resolution.

Jefferson Stores is expanding their facilities on Biscayne Boulevard
at N.E. 15th Street. As a part of this expansion they are also con-
structing a parking garage on the north side of N.E. 15th Terrace at
N.E. 2nd Avenue. They have requested that air rights be granted
across N.E. 15th Terrace for the construction of a pedestrian overpass
to connect this new garage with their facility on the south side of
15th Terrace.
THIS DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS THAT AIR RIGHTS BE GRANTED FOR THIS CON-
STRUCTION, SUBJECT TO A REVIEW OF THE PLANS PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF
A PERMIT.

Dear Mr. Davis:
In reference to our phone conversation of Wednesday, March lti,
1977, 1 am making a formal request to you at this time to be in-
cluded on the Agenda for April 27, 1977. Subjec,ts to be covered:
(a) vacating of Alley -final Plat.
(b) construction of a bridge planned to connt.ct a five deck
parking litructure to the second flour 0f the retail store.
Currently we are in the process of completing the Mat to a point
oi requesting and affixing required signatures. We are; tul:,:, pro-
ceeding with the drawing and modifications ui the bridge location
and the model to reflect these changes.
We are working on the lanJ cape plan which meet the require-
ments and specifications of the planning de port tut tt.
We wish to thank you and the Planning Board for your 0ssistauc
and interest in our project. We feel that this proj.!ct will b do
asset to the downtown community and the Jefle i sul. Stores are happy
to be a part of the total redevelopment of the downk.m..ri Miami plan.
