;Proposed Restaurant Development
at Dinner Key
Richard L. Posmoen, Director
Planning Department
11
The City has been approached by a developer -restaurant operator,
Oh the concept of leasing bay bottom property at Dinner Key for
the placement of a floating restaurant. The proposed location
is indicated on the attached map. We have discussed at a staff
level, the problems involved in committing this much space to a
restaurant at Dinner Key, and feel that in the alternative it may
he possible to moor a boat off the dock area, or perhaps near one
of the moles that have been recce,:mended for development, in the
Dinner Key Master Plan. If we are going to seek developers for
such concept, it may be desirable to advertise this for public
proposals.
Obviously, any developer would be faced with a number of diffi-
culties, including eater and sewer connections, various permits
from the D..R., etc. Before we proceed, it is my recommendation
that we seek concurrence from the City Commission in preparing a
set of specifications, and advertising for proposals in the normal
manner. Perhaps this item should be placed on the March 16th
Agenda for City Commission considerati ,l.
