A RESOLUTIOJ ACCEPTING THE BID OF BIG CHIEF, INC. IN
THE AMOUNT OF $220330 FOR THE INCINERATOR NO61 ai
SALVAGE AND DEMOLITION (PHASE I) 1977; ALLOCATING
THE AMOUNT OF $22, 330 FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED
"POLLUTION CONTROL AND INCINERATOR FACILITIES BOND
FUND" TO COVER THE PROPOSED CONTRACT COST;
ALLOCATING FR0I4 SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $2,456.30
TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING
FROM SAID ACCOUNT TI{E AMOUNT OF 446.70 TO COVER THE
COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES
AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM.
WHEREAS sealed bids were received March 4, 1977 for the

and

Bids were received March 41 1377 for the demolition of
two 150 foot high smoke stacks, four induced draft fans,
breachins, oil tanks and other miscellaneous equipment
on the west exterior of Incinerator No. 1.
As reflected in the Tabulation of Bids,.. the $22,330 bid
of Big Chief, Inc. was the lowest responsible bid.

The project consists or the demolition and removal at
the City':s incinerator tIo.1 (N.W. 12 Avenue and 20 Street) oft
Two ] 50 foot tall smoke stacks, four induced draft
falls, breachirit , several oil tanks, filling of
settling basins and other miscellaneous equipment.
Ai.1 demolition is on the exterior west side of the
existing incinerator.
All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the instruc—
tions to Bidders and Specifications. Plans and Specifications
may be obtained from the Office of the Director, Department of
Public Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. Plans
and specifications ,Are to he returned in good condition and
unmarked within 30 days after bids have ben received.
Proposal includes the time of performance and Specifications
contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete
the work on time.
The City Commission reserves the right to waive any informality
in any bid, and the City Manager may reject any or all btdn, and
r'e-advertise.
