WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received
Jahuary 14, 1917 for the furnishing of 33 stationary planters f
the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to nineteen potenti
pliers and five bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available
for People Bond Fund; and
WHEREAS, these materials will be used by
Parks and Recreation for installation at B
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the D tment of P
Recreation recommend that the bid rec ive om J. & J. sta1-
lations be accepted as the most advar ous bid to the ity;

Pursuant to Public Notice) sealed bids were received
January 14, 1977 for furnishing 33 stationary planters
for the Parks and Recreation Department.
Invitations Were mailed to nineteen potential suppliers
and five bids were received as per the attached tabula-
tion.
Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the
Parks For People Bond Fund.
These planters are to be placed in 3ayfront Park as
part of the beautification program, Phase I.
It is requested that the award be made and a resolu-
tion be prepared accepting the most advantageous bid
as received from :J. & J. Installations for furnishing
33 stationary planters at a total cost of $7,422.66.
The Department: of Parks and Rocreation concurs with
this recommendation.

A major factor to be considered is the weight
of the planters, as they must be moveable by
using the City's fork -lifting equipment. All
bids meet the specifications except for varia-
tions in Weight.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The vest of the alitez as submitted by the
iov bidder, J & J Installations, is within the
required limits.
RECOMMENDATION: IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE AWARD BE MADE TO
J & J INSTALLATIONS, THE LOW BIDDER.
The Department of Parks and Recreation concurs.
