There were no bids received from this solicitation. The major reason given by matey of these firths for not bidding was the lack of automobile accessibility and lack of potential customers coming near the restaurant. With the construction in the Park nearing completion, the City revised specifications for the cafe concession rights and on January 11, 1977, solicited eighty-four (84) prospective bidders. One (1) bid was received and is currently being evaluated by the Administration. This particular bid is predicated upon the bidder's request for 200 parking spaces in service to the cafe. There has also been a tremendous need expressed for parking in support of the various cultural and recreational events being held in the Park, Experience th:s far has indicated that for certain events, between 40 and 200 cars have approached the Park seeking parking space. Many of the occupants of these cars when turned away with directions given to under. -expressway parking or to parking available at the Herald Building, state their refusal to attend the particular event due to the lack of parking space within easy walking distance and free from the peril. of crossing Biscayne Boulevard.
