A RESOLUTION ACetPTING THE BIt) OF SCOPE CONSTRUCTION,
INC$ IN THE AMOUNT OF $'4273651 FOR THE AFRICAN SQUARE
PARK; ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $/127,651 FROM THE
ACCOUNT ENTITTJED "PUBLIC PARKS AND RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES BOND FUND" TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST;
ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT
OF $73000 FOR ADDITIONAL CONSULTANT FEES; ALLOCATING
FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $14 3276 TO COVER THE
CuST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT
THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $ 1,553 TO COVER THE COST OF
SUCH ITEr.iS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES,
POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM
WHEREAS, sealed bids wer,: received February 9, 1977
for the AFRICAN SQUARE PARK; and
WHEREAS, the City M na,ct r reports that the $427 651
bid of Scope Construction, Inc, is the lowest resnonsi.ble bid
and recommends that a•C:5nt-.r_ Ct be awarded to said firm; .and
WHEREAS, the De.$ign R'v:ew Committee , in Order to
meet the desires of the local. community, requestedModif'ications
an-1 additions to the original approved schematic Clan for
AFRICAN SQUARE PARK; and
WH REAS, the. bids received were approximately $100,000
above the original estimate for the schematic plan for AFRICAN
SQUARE PARK; and
• WHEREAS,. the Consultant has requested that; his .Tee -be •
i.ncr eaz ed to take cage of the requested. modifications. and the
Increase trill hr negotiated ;with the Consultant ip, ad it ce

WHEREAS, fund:; are available for allocation from the
account entitled "Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Bond
Fund" for the proposed amount of the Contract, for Additional
Consultant Fees, for Project Expense, and for such items as
Advertising, Testing Laboratories, Postage ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BF TT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF 1.1IAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1 That the February 1977 bid of Scope

Proposal, based on lump sum bid be, and the same is hereby,
accepted at the price stated therein,
Section 2. That the amount of $427,651 be, and it is
hereby, allocated from the account entitled "Public Parks and
Recreational Facilities Bond Fund" to cover the proposed cost
of the Contract.
Section ;. That the additional amount of $7,000 be,
and it is hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover
the cost of Additional Consultant Fees.
Section 4. That the amount of $4,276 be, and it is
hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost
of Project Expense which includes engineering, surveys and
inspection work performed by City Forces.
Section 4. That the additional amount of $1,553 be,
and it is herceby,allocated from the aforesaid account to cover
the cost of such items as Advertising, Testing Laboratories,
Pastore.
Section 5. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a Contract on behalf of The City of Miami with
Scope Construction, Inc. for the construction of AFRICAN SQUARE
PARK.
