Home My WebLink AboutR-77-0149Aibk / 6/72 RESOLUTION NO f7444 A RESOLUTION CITING A NEED POR INTERGOVERNMENTAL ENTA.L COORDINATION OP SUBSTANCE AND ALCOHOL ABUSE PRO= CRAMS AND SERVICES; REQUESTING THE ASSISTANCE OP THE BOARD OP COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN ACHIEVING COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY EASED TREATMENT FACILITIES `COUNTY -WIDE; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO OE'EER .'", ‘: ` 'PULL COOPERATION AND PROVIDING FOR APPROPRIATE G !rtE{"ISTRIfUTION OP THE RESOLUTION, FOLLOW" WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County has the responsibility for social welfare facilities and projects throughout Dade County; and WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission had adopted Ordinance 8386, dated April 10, 1975, providing definitions and minimum standards for residential substance abuse facilities which have the intent of achieving a reasonable geographic dispersal of these facilities; and WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission has adopted Ordinance 8390, dated April 10, 1975, establishing an Advisory Committee on Substance Abuse for the purpose of reviewing each proposed substance abuse program; and "DOCUMENT INDEX WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Adviso fy EB aNcihas passed a motion on October 20, 1976 stating that, "Whereas, there is some need for intergovernmental coordination of programs and services affiliated with substance abuse and alcohol abuse, the City of Miami Planning Advisory Board petitions the Miami City Commission to request the Metropolitan Dade County Commission that they direct their Department Heads to work in concert with our duly authorized Departments in order to have comprehensive community -based treatment facilities County -wide;" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Commission finds a need for inter- governmental coordination of programs and services affiliated with substance abuse and alcohol abuse, Section 2, The Commission requests the Board of County Commissioners to direct the County Manager and his administration to Wort iti •cotoert with the City Manager and adt ittistratiot it order to achieve comprehensive coti mu City bated treatment facilities County -wide Section 3, The City Manager it hereby directed to offer full cooperation to the County Manager to achieve the required coordit at oh Section 4, The City Clerk is hereby directed to tend copies of this resolution to the Board of County Coissioners, the County Manager and the Director of Dade County Department of Human Resources, PASStb AND ADOPTED this 23 day of F BRUARY 1977.
