RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION INDICATING THE INTENT OP
THE CITY COMMISSION TO CLOSE THAT
PORTION OP N.W. 2 AVENUE BETWEEN N.W.
1 STREET AND N.W. 2 STREET, CONDITIONED
UPON THE BoCATMON of THE REDERAD RESERVE
BANK IN THE PROPOSED DOWNTOWN GOVERNMENT
CENTER AND THE ACQUISITION BY METROPOLITAN
DADE COUNTY OE ALL ABBtjTTING PROPERTIES ON
BOTH SIDES OF N.W, 2 AVENUE AND THE DEDICA-
TION AND CONSTRUCTION OF N.W, 3 AVENUE
BETWEEN N.W. 1 STREW AND N.W. 2 STREET.

L O VV WHEREAS
the Federal Reserve Bank is consider-
ing the relocation of a new facility in the proposed Downtown
Government Center; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Reserve Bank has indicated
that the most suitable site is between N.W. 1 Street and N.W.
2 Street and between N.W. 1 Court and Interstate 95; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the Federal Reserve
facility in this site may require the early closure of N.W. 2
Avenue between N.W. 1 Street and N.W. 2 Street and the dedica-
tion and construction of a new N.W. 3 Avenue between N.W. 1
Street and N.W. 2 Street; and
WHEREAS, an intergovernmental meeting was held
on January 17, 1977 to discuss the proposed Federal Reserve
Bank site; and
WHEREAS, the existing utilities within N.W.
2 Avenue right of way may need to be relocated; and
WHEREAS, this street closure and construction
of the Federal Reserve building are in concert with the overall
site plan for the Government Center;

Section 1. The City Coliission hereby indicates
its intent to close that portion of N.vl: 2 Avenue between N.W.
1 Street and N.W. 2 Street, conditioned upon the location of
the Federal Reserve Bank in the proposed Downtown Government
Center and the acquisition by Metropolitan Dade County of all
abbutting properties on both sides of N.W. 2 Avenue and the
dedication and construction of N.W. 3 Avenue between N.W. 1
Street and N.W. 2 Street, prior to the final closing of the
street.
