WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, Sealed bids were received December 15, 1976 for the furnishing of lawn equipment for the Deport- ment of Parks and Recreation; and lWHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty-two potential suppliers and six bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the budgeted funds of the Park and Recreation Department for the fiscal year 1976 1977: and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Parks and Recreation for the purpose of replacement of worn equipment; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks and Rec- reation recommends that the bids received from Lector Turf and Gardens' at $3, 845.75, Ace Lawn Flower at $1,312.50, DeBra Turf at $5,796.00, Homestead Mower Center at $2,037.00 for a grand total of $12,991.25 be accepted as the most advantageous bids to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVLD BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 11IAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Invitations were mailed to twenty-two potential suppliers and six bids were received as per the attached tabulation. Funds for this equipment are to be allocated from the 1976-1977 Fiscal Year Budget: The lawn equipment is to replace worn items that are used through- out the City park system. The alternate bid of Homestead Mower Center, Inc. on Item 2 and 4 on the bid tabulation does not meet specifications and will not stand up during heavy use. The mower offered on Item 4 by Hector Turf and Carden is heavy duty and will standardize the equipment now used. It is requested that the award be made and a resolution be pre- pared accepting the most advantageous bids as received from Hector Turf and Garden at $3,845.00, Ace Lawn Mower Co., at $1,312.50, DeBra Turf at $5,796.00 and Homestead Mower Center at $2,037.00 at a total cost of $12,991.25.
